Radiator Tables (part 6)

I made it home over a short weekend and was able to finish the tables. First I hacked off the middle, back leg of the two long tables. The stump rest right on the back side of the radiator, so there is some support still.

I cleaned up the wood and my father used a tack cloth with denatured alcohol to get the dust from the maple. Next was multiple layers of polyurethane.

A burst of photos that show the dynamic grains of the spalted maple.

For a final comparison, here are the 3D designs compared to the final product. They’re not too far off, actually.

This project took a while, but it’s rewarding to see them finally in their home. When my parents complete the renovation, I’ll post some updated pictures.
